Silica Ramming Mass is an acidic substance which is used for the making of lining in the furnace. It is produced by the by heating, crushing and grading of the crystalline quartz consist of 99.90 percent of silicon dioxide. It yields more lining life and also helps in enhancing the uniformity in the physical properties of the solid layer. Silica Ramming Mass has good thermal characteristics which helps them to withstand the stresses developed by thermal cycles and excellent structural strength during combustion operation. It is chemically inert to metal that are treated inside the furnace which results in good erosion resistance.
