Calcined Petroleum Carbon Coke has been produced by crude oil refinery and is most commonly used for making anodes in metal smelting industries. It is considered to be a key ingredient in aluminum production. This coke is known to have pores in its structure which allow binding of materials through them resulting in formation of solid carbon block. In steel industry, Calcined Petroleum Carbon Coke is used as recarburizing agent and for titanium dioxide production as well. It is produced by placing raw green coke into kilns and heating at temperature between 1200 to 1350 degrees Celsius.
